The impact on some estimates of sampling activities within the AETS / Michael Wendt. : CS11-619/2002-1E-PDF
"The Adult Education and Training Survey gathers information from Canadian adults on their training activities. Respondents may or may not participate in training. For those that do, detailed information is gathered about each of a number of training activities. For people who took many activities, this could mean a high response burden. To reduce response burden in a future survey, one could ask fewer questions or ask questions about fewer activities. In this note, we describe the impact on estimates of selecting some activities from each participant. Bias could be introduced into estimates of participation rates unless we were to ask some basic benchmark information from each participant. Additionally, a simulation study is performed on 1998 data to observe the impact on some proportion estimates for incidence of training, with accompanying variance estimates"--Abstract.
