"This map folio of selected water uses and related activities was prepared in anticipation of growing interest and concern with the Gulf. Its preparation was initiated in mid 1971 by the Lands Directorate, Department of the Environment. ... The maps illustrate only some of the many physical, climatic and social factors which influence the supply, demand and the use of the fresh and saltwater within the designated study area. The texts which accompany the 14 maps present additional information including trends in resource utilization, which place the data in perspective and provide certain clues to possible future conditions.
