"These proceedings summarize the relevant presentations and discussions of the national science advisory meeting held on March 1-3, 2016 at the Hotel Indigo Ottawa, Ontario. The conclusions and advice resulting from this meeting will be provided in the form of a Science Advisory Report that will be made publicly available on the CSAS website. Meeting participants included experts from various sectors and regions of Fisheries and Oceans Canada, as well as external participants from Environment and Climate Change Canada, Transport Canada, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and the Vancouver Aquarium. One working paper was distributed prior to the meeting. The purpose of this meeting was to assess whether the proposed framework identified scientifically defensible vulnerabilities in aquatic ecosystems to ship-source oil spills.
