"In 1986, an interjurisdictional Steering Committee of representatives from the governments of Canada, Alberta, and the Northwest Territories formed a Task Force to suggest answers to the problems posed for both agriculture and the conservation of wood bison by the presence in Wood Buffalo National Park and surrounding areas of a herd of bison of mixed origin with a high prevalence of both tuberculosis and bovine brucellosis"--Exec.
