"In this study an attempt has been made to assemble the more important social and economic statistics relating to the Maritime Provinces from earlier times to the present. They are shown against the background of similar statistics for Canada as a whole. Certain relevant data of an interpretative and historical nature are also included. The volume provides in readily available form the basic statistical data for further studies of social and economic conditions in the Maritime Provinces"--Preface.
