"The purpose of this publication is to assist field inspectors conducting complete on-site surveillance and monitoring of water and wastewater treatment operations on Indian reserves, and band personnel operating water and wastewater treatment facilities. The information in this publication is as comprehensive as possible but does not contain all the details associated with the evaluation of water and wastewater treatment equipment and methods. It should therefore be considered neither as a rigid format nor as a replacement for a knowledgeable inspector's investigative skills."--Preface.
