Based on an evaluation of existing emergency response systems, a generic description of the hardware and monitoring services currently available in Canada is provided. The study included detailed interviews with users, geriatric practitioners and industry representatives. In addition a literature review, and an analysis of existing systems, with possible innovations is provided along with recommendations for technological improvements.
