Section 36 of the Act is intended to foster the ability of victims to recover any loss or damage they may have suffered as a result of anti-competitive conduct. The Competition Bureau (Bureau) views private actions under section 36 of the Act as an additional and important mechanism, separate and independent from its administration and enforcement of the Act.
