The objective of this analysis is to update and enhance an earlier Health Canada publication, based on recent scientific advancements. Compared with previous estimates, the new scientific information provides more specific analysis of cause of death associated with exposure to air pollution. In addition, updated air pollution data are also available for all of Canada, and the new estimates apply to the entire Canadian population instead of being limited to the larger urban centres.
