“With the year 1952 the Bureau began publishing annual reports on notifiable diseases in Canada. In order to supplement the data given in the annual reports and in view of the many requests received for this type of information, the present publication has been prepared. This report is a summary of cases of and deaths from notifiable diseases from 1924 to 1952. Included also are case rates for these same diseases. Most of the data on reported cases have not been available previously in published form, although the number of deaths for these years has been shown in the annual reports on Vital Statistics"--Forward, p. [3].
