"Average land area per farm, as one component of the structure of agriculture, is an important issue in both developing and developed countries. A reversal in the relationship between the rate of change in labour costs versus machinery costs in Canada in the last half of the 1970's helps to explain the decline in the rate of growth of farm size during this period."--Abstract.
