"Since the early l970s, excess sulfate yields of rivers in Nova Scotia and Newfoundland have decreased considerably, and the pHs of those rivers not dominated by organic acids have risen accordingly. Rates of wet deposition of excess sulfate in these areas have been monitored over a shorter time period, but from l98l to I983, have decreased dramatically at Kejimkujik National Park, Nova Scotia"--Exec. summary.
