"This volume provides a comprehensive record of the quarterly National Income and Expenditure Accounts for the period 1947 to 1986 inclusive. It incorporates the results of a major historical statistical revision from 1947, which were released in July 1986. In addition, the normal annual revisions to the accounts released in June 1987 and June 1988 are also incorporated. This historical publication is a companion volume to catalogue 13-531, National Income and Expenditure Accounts, Annual estimates, 1926-1986, which provides more detailed breakdowns, at an annual level, over the period from 1926. The estimates in these two volumes, 13-531 and 13-533, are fully consistent with the one exception that further statistical revisions, first released in June 1988, apply to the quarterly estimates from 1984 to 1986. The corresponding revisions to the annual estimates can be found in the periodical National Income and Expenditure Accounts, Annual Estimates, 1976-1987, catalogue 13-201”--Introd., p. [vii].
