Action plan for the woodland caribou (Rangifer tarandus caribou), boreal population, in Canada : federal actions. : CW69-21/51-2018E-PDF
"Boreal caribou is an iconic but threatened species in Canada and holds special significance for Indigenous peoples and other Canadians; its continued decline concerns us all. Building on the Federal Recovery Strategy for Boreal Caribou (2012), the federal government will continue to do its part to recover boreal caribou. It has developed this Action Plan to describe the federal government’s contribution to the recovery efforts. There are three key pillars in the Action Plan: knowledge to support recovery; recovery and protection; and reporting on progress. The Action Plan is partial at this time since it does not address all of the measures, as required in the Species at Risk Act (SARA). Fulfillment of SARA requirements would be accomplished as provinces/territories complete their range plans or similar documents, which can be adopted over time as subsequent action plans for the species”--Executive summary, p. ii.
