"The fate and effects of chemical spills in rivers was investigated using a variety of techniques including mathematical modelling. The North Thompson River was chosen as the study river, but techniques developed for this particular river are intended to be easily adaptable to other river systems Another element in the choice of the North Thompson River was its value as a producer of Pacific salmon, and its great range in river discharge during the course of the year"--Exec.
