5203 |a"The magnitude 9.2 earthquake that occurred off the coast of Alaska in March 1964 generated large tsunami waves that were responsible for considerable destruction along the west coast of Canada and the United States. This work uses a nested-grid numerical tsunami model and an updated three-dimensional viscoelastic model of the 1964 earthquake, combined with a coseismic after-slip model of the Alaska rupture zone, to predict future extreme tsunami waves and currents at Seal Cove. The analysis is in anticipation of upgrades and modernization of the Coast Guard facility at the site"--Abstract, p. iv.
