520 |a"The Whitefish Lake Indian Band has stated that "portions" of Whitefish Lake Indian Reserve #6 are "no longer usable by them" due to flooding. The Band has stated that the southern (mainland) portion of Whitefish Lake Indian Reserve #6, adjacent to Lake Panache, has been flooded as the result of the construction of a dam at the outlet of Lake Panache at Walker Lake. To date, the Whitefish Lake Indian Band have not submitted a formal statement of claim to the Ontario Government nor has the Indian Band provided any documentation to the Ontario Government in support of their statement. The purpose of this Research Report is to present all of the relevant historical facts which are known to us concerning the above noted issue that the southern (mainland) portion of Whitefish Lake Indian Reserve #6 has been flooded"--Introduction, p. 2.
