A history of Rocky Mountain House / by Hugh Dempsey. The excavation and historical identification of Rocky Mountain House / by William C. Noble. : R61-2/1-6E-PDF

[In the first paper] the history of Rocky Mountain House, a fur-trading post on the North Saskatchewan River in Alberta, is given by the author, along with contemporary accounts of the fort's appearance. An attempt is made to identify by historical evidence the sites of the three forts called 'Rocky Mountain House.' Seven lists from 19th-century invoices and inventories show the kinds of good shipped to the West for the Indian trade and other uses .. [The second paper describes how] in 1963 one of the Rocky Mountain House sites on the North Saskatchewan was excavated. A total of 7 buildings and 19 pits was found within the enclosure"--Abstracts, p.8 and 56.
