Why do governments negotiate treaties with Aboriginal peoples? : 17 questions and answers on comprehensive land claims and the agreement-in-principle of a general nature with the Mamuitun Tribal Council... : R2-380/2005-PDF

"There have been various interpretations of the Agreement-in-Principle of a General Nature between the Mamuitun Tribal Council mak Nutashkuan and the governments of Canada and Québec, which have raised a number of questions among the public about this document. The purpose of this brochure is to promote a clear understanding of this agreement and to respond to some of the concerns that have been expressed. As well, this brochure explains the context for comprehensive land claims negotiations with Aboriginal peoples and provides information on the issues arising from these negotiations for the federal government, in light of its responsibilities in this regard"--Preamble, p. 1.
