"Sodium omadine is an antimicrobial active ingredient registered in Canada for use in the preservation of aqueous synthetic fibre lubricants (spin finishes); aqueous based metalworking, cutting, cooling and lubrication fluids and fluid concentrates; gypsum wallboards; and “in-can” and “dry film” preservation of latex emulsions used in adhesives, caulks, patching compounds, sealants, paints and grouts. There are three products containing sodium omadine currently registered in Canada under the authority of the Pest Control Products Act, including two technical grade active ingredient products and one commercial class end-use product. This document presents the final regulatory decision for the re-evaluation of sodium omadine, including the required risk mitigation measures to protect human health and the environment for all uses included in the current re-evaluation (uses for preservation of metalworking, cutting, cooling and lubrication fluids and fluid concentrates and gypsum wallboard).
