"Aldicarb (Temik) is a systemic pesticide that has been used in the Maritimes primarily on potato crops to control aphids and the Colorado potato beetle. Aldicarb possesses the three characteristics necessary for a chemical to be considered as a serious potential threat to ground-water supplies. It is highly toxic, mobile, and persistent in the environment"--Abstract.
