"The present status of the polar bear (Ursus maritimus) in the James Bay and Belcher Islands area was assessed from the results of 8 years of investigation of the habitat and biology of polar bears in that area by the Canadian Wildlife Service (1967-75), surveys carried out by the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources since 1963, and from kill records"--Abstract.
