The reasons for a Quality Assurance Program for an analytical contract are outlined. Various procedures such as control charts, use of reference materials and audits are discussed. Recommendations are made for the reporting of detection limits and low level data. Criteria are presented for the acceptance or rejection of results from a contract analytical laboratory. Proposed contract clauses and suggestions for additional reading are included"--Abstract.
