5203 |a"Burlington Bay lies on the western end of Lake Ontario and is an important habitat for migratory and resident water birds. The bay is composed of three sections: Cootes Paradise, Windermere Basin, and Hamilton Harbour proper. Hamilton Harbour was recently designated by the International Joint Commission as an "Area of Concern." A Remediai Action Plan (RAP) for the cleanup of Hamilton Harbour was initiated by the Ontario Ministry of the Environment and Environment Canada. The purpose of this report is to document historical changes in and the present status of water birds associated with Burlington Bay and to provide a historical data base for the water bird component of the Hamilton Harbour RAP"--Abstract.
