"During the 1989 breeding season, an inventory was made of Double-crested Cormorants (Phalacrocorax auritus), Ring-billed Gulls (Larus delawarensis), Herring Gulls (L. argentatus), Caspian Terns (Sterna caspia) and Common Terns (S. hirundo) nesting in the Canadian portions of Lake Huron. This was done to determine the nesting population of each species in Canadian Lake Huron and to make comparisons with results obtained in 1980"--Abstract, p. i.
