Indigenous people in the federal correctional system / Hon. John McKay, chair. : XC76-1/1-421-22E-PDF
"On Monday, 6 March 2017, the House of Commons Standing Committee on Public Safety and National Security (the Committee) agreed to undertake a study of Indigenous inmates in the federal correctional system and the issues related to their release and re-integration into the community. The Committee heard from 15 witnesses over the course of four meetings in October and November 2017. In this report, the Committee makes 19 key recommendations in view of ending over-representation of Indigenous people in the correctional system which is rooted in society and involves social, economic, cultural and legal aspects. The Committee agrees with all witnesses that an all-encompassing vision, and therefore a holistic solution, is needed"--Provided by publisher.
