"On 26 September 2017, the House of Commons Standing Committee on Fisheries and Oceans (the Committee) agreed to "undertake a study examining commercial fishing vessel length policy as it applies to the Atlantic Provinces." Policies specific to the following subjects were to be studied: commercial fishing vessel extension regulations; offshore/inshore transfer of licences; time frame for operator transfers; and combining quotas/commercial fishing vessel capacity.
