"The estuaries of the Tahsis and Leiner Rivers are located 2 kilometres apart near the head of a long narrow fiord on the west coast of Vancouver Island, British Columbia. Most of the Tahsis River estuary has been filled in or modified by urban and industrial development. Most of the Leiner River estuary is in a natural state. To determine the abundance and distribution of migratory and resident birds on the 2 estuaries, weekly surveys were conducted from 17 November 1981 through 28 May 1982"--Abstract.
