Stock status and sustainable harvest levels for Arctic char in Ijaruvung Lake, Iqalujjuaq Fiord and Irvine Inlet, Cumberland Sound, Nunavut . : Fs70-6/2018-021E-PDF

"Arctic Char (Salvelinus alpinus) is the most northerly freshwater fish and has a circumpolar distribution. This species is abundant within the Canadian Arctic and is an important subsistence resource for local Inuit and are important to maintaining traditional lifestyles for local Northern communities. In the Cumberland Sound area, there are numerous waterbodies that are important for the commercial and subsistence harvest of this species. Ijaruvung Lake, Iqalujjuaq Fiord, and Irvine Inlet were declared commercially licensed water bodies in 1984-1985. DFO Resource Management (RM) has requested that DFO Science provide updates on the stock status, abundance and sustainable harvest levels for each of these commercial waterbodies"--Context, p. [1].
