"This survey was carried out in mid-1964 in conjunction with the Economic Council's assessment of the medium and longer term prospects of the economy. The survey was designed to serve two main purposes: 1) to determine the capital spending intentions of a sample of Canada's leading business concerns, 2) to explore the extent to which these firms undertake longer term planning of capital investment and to learn the nature of their planning procedures"--P. 1.
