The impact of supported housing on a downtown homeless population / Trudy Norman and Steven Schwandt, Victoria Cool Aid Society ; Shelley Eisler. : NH15-820/1993E-PDF
"In 1991 the Victoria Cool Aid Society, a non-profit society, undertook to study its new supported housing program, Swift House. The Society wished to know what the impact of living in this supported residential environment might have on the functioning of its tenants in comparison to a group of their peers (Streetlink Emergency Shelter users) who remain homeless. This report summarizes the research findings including the profile of individuals who took part in the study, distribution of social functioning scores, changes in social functioning over time, and the effect of variables such as ethnicity and primary diagnosis on levels of social functioning. Salient features of the findings are discussed and recommendations for future research are made"--Abstract, p. 1.
