"This audit focused on whether the Department of Health and Social Services and the Health and Social Services authorities met key responsibilities for the protection and well-being of children, youth, and their families. This included examining whether the Department and the Health and Social Services authorities had implemented selected recommendations from our 2014 audit. A key element of our examination included a review of a selection of 37 child files and 37 foster care files to determine whether the Department and the Health and Social Services authorities met key responsibilities under the Child and Family Services Act to protect and care for children and youth.
