5200 |a"Chlorophenols were observed at analytically significant levels in fish and water from the North Arm of the Fraser River Estuary. The identities of the major isomers in fish, geographical distributions and isomer ratios indicated that sawmills using chlorophenols for wood protection were the major sources. Concentrations in fish were from 100 to 1400 times greater than in the water indicating that these compounds were bioaccumulating. Several features of this bioaccumulation could not be explained and require further research"--Executive summary.
