Thermal hydrocracking of Athabasca bitumen : computer simulation of feed and product vaporization / D.J. Patmore, B.B. Pruden and A.M. Shah. : M38-13/78-4E-PDF

"A computer simulation was carried out to determine the fraction of feed and product vaporized during the hydrocracking of Athabasca bitumen. The program utilized the Grayson-Streed modification of the Chao-Seader equation of state. It was found that as much as 75% or more of the liquid fed to the reactor can be in the vapour phase at reactor outlet conditions. The effect of temperature, pressure, gas-to-liquid ratio, mol % H2 in the gas and pitch conversion on the degree of vaporization were investigated"--Abstract, p. i.
