2018 assessment of 4VWX herring . : Fs70-6/2018-052E-PDF

"In support of scientific advice for the 2017-18 and 2018-19 fisheries, the 2018 assessment of the 4VWX herring stock complex was reviewed through a Science Advisory Porcess. A meeting was held to review and evaluate biological and fishery information on 4VWX herring status as a basis for establishing quota for 2017-18 fisheries, as required in the Integrated Fisheries Management Plan. The terms of reference included evaluation of the Southwest Nova Scotia/Bay of Fundy (SWNS-BoF) spawning component, evaluation of the use of the status of the fishery with respect to the Lime Reference Point (LRP), compilation and review of information regarding the Offshore Scotia Shelf and the Coastal Nova Scotia spawning components, and update on southwest New Brunswick migrant juvenile fishery component, and recommendations to management on stock status"--Context, p.
