Alien invasions : introduced species in the Bay of Fundy and environs / [written and produced by J.A. Percy]. : En13-8/23-2003E-PDF
"Over the years, many alien species have managed to establish themselves in the waters of Canada's East Coast, including the Bay of Fundy. Some of these reached our shores many decades or even centuries ago and have since become so well entrenched that they are now a familiar part of our coastal ecosystems. The ecological effects of their initial arrival are largely unknown, because knowledge about the biological communities at the time is scarce. Other species are much more recent arrivals in Maritime coastal waters and some of them may still be trying to spread into the Bay of Fundy. A number of other worrisome species have already established a firm beachhead much further south along the eastern seaboard or in the Gulf of Maine and are now relentlessly spreading northwards towards our waters. Let's take a closer look at a few of the more notable alien plants and animals and consider the possible ecological and economic threats that they pose."--p. 5.
