520 | |a"The mean susceptibility of Ti-140A measured at room temperature increases with cold work and quenching. While the annealing of most cold-worked and all quenched samples, at 300 °C (570 °F) for 4 hours, almost wipes out this increase, the identical annealing of lightly deformed samples may cause a further increase. It is shown that the anomalous effects of low-temperature annealing may be connected to strain aging. Tentative explanations as to what causes the change of the mean susceptibility have been made and some applications are given"--Abstract, p. 1. |
