"This research document presents catches, sampling and bycatch data for Atlantic mackerel (Scomber scombrus L.) in NAFO subareas 3 and 4 (Figure 1) following the fishing seasons 2014, 2015 and 2016, as well as egg survey results from which an abundance index is derived. The US commercial and recreational landings are also presented for information purpose. All these data were analyzed and the main results were incorporated in the Science Advisory Report (DFO 2017) to assist in the preparation of the management plan for the 2017 and 2018 fishing seasons. For reference, the main research document of the previous stock assessment is Grégoire et al. (2014a)"--Introduction, page 1.
