Advanced technologies in Canada : an analysis of recent evidence on their use / D.G. McFetfidge. : EC22-189/1992E-PDF

"This study has two objectives. The first is to determine the characteristics of manufacturing establishments in Canada using advanced manufacturing technologies in order to determine whether there are barriers to the adoption of advanced manufacturing technologies that could be reduced by changes in public policy. The second objective is to compare the respective penetration rates of advanced manufacturing technologies in selected industries in the United States and Canada in order to determine whether the use of advanced manufacturing technologies (AMTs) in Canada lags that in the United States and, if so, whether this can be traced to the characteristics of the industries or thetechnologies involved"--Introduction, p.
