"On October 17, 2017, the Standing Senate Committee on Banking, Trade and Commerce (the committee) was authorized to conduct a study on issues pertaining to the management of systemic risks in the Canadian financial sector. As it has been 10 years since the global financial crisis, the committee was interested in learning about the success of measures that have been implemented since that time to manage systemic risks and any that may still exist in the financial sector"--Introduction, page 6.
