"A study was undertaken to ascertain the possibilities and problems associated with the use of microwave techniques in detecting oil pollution in the ice environment. A comprehensive investigation into the microwave emission and scattering properties of sea ice, oil on water, and the ocean surface was made and the results of analyses are presented"--Abstract.
