Determination of textile dyes by high performance liquid chromatography - diode array spectrophotometry / by R.J. Maguire. : En13-5/90-164E-PDF

"An ion-pairing high performance liquid chromatographic- diode array spectrophotometric technique has been used to characterize 17 acid, basic, direct, disperse, mordant and reactive textile dyes. The analysis revealed that many of the dye formulations contain more than one component, and in some cases as many as six components. Analysis of samples of a textile mill water treatment plant influent revealed the presence of four red-orange dyes, one of which was tentatively identified by retention time and spectral matching as Acid Red 73. The four dyes appear to be efficiently removed in the treatment plant since none were detected in the effluent"--Abstract, page 2.
