A large scale model to study the removal of aromatic hydrocarbons from the saturated zone / by: S. Lesage [and five others]. : En13-5/95-44E-PDF
"Innovative groundwater remediation technologies are typically developed using laboratory columns, and then assessed in the field at the pilot-scale. However, it is becoming difficult to conduct pilot-scale experiments because environmental authorities are increasingly reluctant to allow controlled spills followed by an experimental treatment. In order to test new technologies at near field scale, a physical aquifer model was constructed and installed in the Aquatic Ecosystem Restoration Evaluation Facility (AQUEREF) at the National Water Research Institute in Burlington, Ontario"--Abstract.
