"The objective of this work was to gain a better understanding of the impact of the service sector on other sectors of the economy, specifically manufacturing, resource and services. We were particularly interested in the affect which the service sector has on the competitiveness of Canadian exporters due to factors such as the FTA and globalization of trade. The study focused on issues such as the perceptions of users as to what services are important, the competitiveness of the Canadian service sector and the relationship between the service supplier and the user of the service"--Executive summary, page 1.
