The specific requirement of this study included a review of the international market for remote sensing products and services with projections for future spending in the three main sectors of the earth observation industry; namely, satellite systems and subsystems, ground receiving stations and data distribution, and value added systems and services. The second requirement of the study was to compile a data base of all Canadian companies with capabilities in these sectors. An analysis of the Canadian capabilities and deficiencies in the Canadian technology base was performed.
