"Computer simulation models offer a cost-effective approach and rapid means of obtaining considerable insight into the groundwater - wetlands environment. Computer models can be used to (1) investigate processes occurring in this environment, (2) quantify fluxes across the groundwater-wetland interface, (3) predict the impact of future hydrologic events on wetlands, and (4) investigate the impacts of various remediation plans, and (5) investigate contaminant transport via groundwater into a wetland"--Abstract.
