"This volume forms Volume Two of the Directory of Canadian Environmental Companies. Volume One is the Directory of Manufacturers: Environmental Products. Both volumes were compiled as projects under the Environmental Industries Sector Initiative which was launched by Industry, Science and Technology Canada (ISTC) on April 1, 1989. … Although company profiles are arranged in one alphabetical listing for ease of reference, Canadian environmental services firms fall into three basic categories: consultants, including consulting engineers; operations, such as waste-handling and the operation of disposal facilities, recycling plants, sewage treatment plants; and laboratories, focused on environmental monitoring and research."--Introduction, page i.
