"In the mid-1990’s there were significant declines in coho salmon (Oncorhynchus kisutch) returning to many rivers and streams in British Columbia. It is speculated that that these declines might be associated with the increasing levels of solar ultraviolet radiation (UVR) that were occurring globally at high latitudes during that same period"--Project overview, page 1.
