"In order to effectively and efficiently design offshore structures that are environmentally compatible in the zone where the bottom affects waves, it is necessary to know the joint probability distribution of wave heights and periods. The field programme described in this report, partially funded by the Panel on Energy Research and Development, provides data to address this issue.
