A simple field technique for measuring two-layer Lagrangian flow in the nearshore zone / authors, J. P. Coakley and H. A. Savile. : En13-6/81-14E-PDF
"With the exception of a few sites (Point Pelee, Coakley 1974; Van Wagners Beach, Coakley 1980; Toronto waterfront, Greenwood and McGillivray*) there are little available data on wave-driven and nearshore circulation currents along the Canadian Great Lakes shoreline. Such information is often required in order to respond to questions regarding shoreline processes. Although a program of moored instruments would provide more accurate data at specific sites, for cost reasons, among others, this is not feasible for covering a series of sites. Also such "spot" data would not provide spatial patterns of currents"--Introd.
